Overview Peoplestown Revitalization Corporation, Inc. (PRC) was incorporated in December of 1991 and granted 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status in 1992. The organization grew out of several long-standing community interest organizations active since the Model Cities era, including the Emmaus House, the Peoplestown Advisory Committee, and the Peoplestown Reunion. Membership is comprised of 150 persons, most of who reside in the community. A seven-member board of directors governs organizational activities carried out by a six person staff complement of employees and consultants, headed by an executive director. PRC's strategic priorities since 1992 have been the provision of employment opportunities for neighborhood residents, promoting positive community attitudes, and improving the physical condition of the neighborhood. These have led to specific housing, economic, and community development projects and programs. Since its inception, PRC has emphasized strong resident and community involvement in decision making. Its monthly meetings are open to the public.
