| This project calls
for the new construction of six units in the Grant
Terrace area (formerly Primrose Circle). PRC will also
actively work with other land and homeowners to develop a
plan for the complete revitalization of this area of the
community, which is in a cul de sac in the southeast
corner of the neighborhood. PRC originally acquired nine
units in Grant Terrace. Phase One of the project rehabbed
three of those units using FHA 203K financing. Of these 3
homes, one was sold, one is in a lease/purchase
arrangement and the other was converted to a Section 8
rental unit during 1999. Originally, the difficulty in
selling all three units hindered PRCs ability to
begin the projects second phase. |
Due to pressure
from the Citys Building Code Division, PRC
demolished units on our six remaining parcels in the
spring of 1999. Another factor hindering our ability to
move this project forward has been the discovery of a
landfill under DH Stanton Park, which is immediately
upgrade from the Grant Terrace area. PRC has suspended
new construction activity until we can determine that
there are no negative environmental concerns associated
with the property.
During this time, we are researching the possibility of
constructing manufactured
housing on our unimproved sites. This approach is also
one of the options being considered for scattered sites
currently controlled by PRC.
